Introducing the
Park City Team
There is a lot to be excited about here at Platinum Dental in Park City. From our awesome modern facilities to our flexible scheduling and membership program we’re constantly working to provide the best dental care to our neighbors stretching from Parley’s Pass to Heber.
But the truth is we know that our greatest strength isn’t in a policy or technology, it’s in our amazing people. Particularly our incredible doctor who leads our team through his own personal example of dedicated service to this community.

Richard Buck, DMD, D.ABP, D.ABDSM, MS, MS

After Dr. Buck graduated from the University of Louisville school of Dentistry, he began his dental career in the US Army. He deployed to Kandahar, Afghanistan with the 626 Forward Support Battalion as the Brigade Dental surgeon of the 3 rd Brigade, 101 st Airborne Division. Following a separation from the Army, Dr. Buck spent 2 years in private practice until he ‘crossed into the blue’ to achieve and Air Force Career.
While serving in Okinawa, Japan, Dr. Buck spent over 5 months on the hospital ship, USNS Mercy. At that time, Dr. Buck attained the title of ‘Shellback’ and was inducted into the Solemn Mysteries of the Ancient Order of Shellbacks. During his career as a dentist, Dr. Buck has earned 2 Masters Degrees. The first based on research in Endodontics; the second based on research in Prosthodontics.
Since 2008, Dr. Buck’s initial primary focus in his practice was Prosthodontics- including fixed, removable, implants and maxillofacial rehabilitation. During this time, he also learned to treat Obstructive Sleep Apnea directly under the tutelage of Dr. Thornton, himself, the creator of the TAP oral devices. In his time as a prosthodontist, Dr. Buck has out of necessity, treated patients for TMD and has taken a gnathologic approach with great success. These successes intrigued him; and from 2011 until 2014 he treated only the most difficult cases of TMD that presented to the military clinics.
Dr. Buck has developed a love for treating orofacial pain and over time, orofacial pain became 50% of his practice. At this point, Dr. Buck now devotes 100% of his clinic time to treating snoring, sleep apnea and resolving Temporomandibular Joint Disorders. Colonel Richard Buck retired from the United States Air Force after 21 years of military service.
He maintains a Diplomate Status with the American Board of Prosthodontics and is a Fellow of the American College of Prosthodontics. He also holds membership within the American Academy of Orofacial Pain and sits on their Sleep board. He is also a Board-Certified Dentist with the American Academy of Dental Sleep Medicine.

Daniel Burstein, Orthodontist
Born in Santiago, Chile in 1960. My family moved to the USA in 1962. I grew up speaking both English and Spanish. We moved to California where I went to college, dental school, and orthodontic specialty school where I became an Orthodontist in 2020. My wife and I moved to Atlanta, GA in 1993 where we raised 3 boys who are now all out of the house.
I have owned and operated my orthodontic practice in Atlanta since 1995.
I recently sold my office to join Platinum. I have years of experience in managing an orthodontic practice both in clinical and administrative areas.
I am proficient in all clinical aspects of orthodontic care. I specialize in expanders, habit appliances, braces, bite correctors, in house aligners using Orchestrate 3D software, as well as invisalign.
My goal is to join a dental/orthodontic group where I can concentrate on providing treatment to patients in need. I joined Platinum because I aim to provide care to those in need without the distraction of running a private
practice. I also look forward to enjoying more professional interactions and participation in more interdisciplinary orthodontic treatment plans.
